23(03) a set of apartments
construction of a social housing building with hemp blocks and reused bricks
The small scale of this building allows experimentation with a series of interventions using bio-sourced materials, while maintaining a high level of habitability in the development of 8 social housing units. The new volume follows the demolition of 3 single-family homes, which were in danger of collapsing due to structural instability caused by a broken drain at the subway level further down the avenue. In its place, the new building takes up all the codes of the small domestic thoroughfare in which it is set: bricks, bow-window, gable, planted forecourt. It blends in perfectly with its surroundings, ensuring that future residents enjoy a pleasant living environment.
